Papa, Granny, Mike and Rachel
We have been visited by many loved ones recently. Some visits were longer than others, but we thoroughly enjoyed every minute spent with them. On Friday May 27th, Dad passed through on his way to Virginia and brought by some Taco Bueno. The next day, Mom came and stayed through June 4th. And Mike and Rachel Perkins came on June 2nd and Stayed through yesterday June 6th.
Sunday afternoon we took Mom and the Perkins fam to Reelfoot Lake (the one formed by the earthquakes). We walked around the boardwalk and saw a huge water moccasin trying to force down what looked to be a medium sized catfish or crappie (its hard to tell when all you can see is the back half). Then we took a boat tour of the south end of the lake.
On Monday we took Mike and Rachel to go canoing on the Harpeth River near Nashville. I made a presumptious statement at the beginning of the river saying that you would have to really try in order to tip over on this river. Though they didn't try, the Perkins family went under at a surprisingly tricky spot on the river. On top of that, we saw four snakes- two of which were right next to someone's feet. At least one of them was probably a copperhead.
Here are some of the pictures. We will have more pictures later, but right now all I have with me are the pictures from the church camera.
