caRN

This week has been blessed in many ways and the best is yet to come. Monday, we went to Nashville and purchased a family car. We were going to make do with Sarah's little two door, but when we tried out the car seat in it, we realized that it wouldn't work. So we acquired a 2004 VW Passat wagon at a great price. It has some really fun features that we are enjoying, but the best part is that we now have a four door with plenty of space for the fam.

Today, we got the results of Sarah's state boards and got the news that she is now a Registered Nurse. I am so proud of her. It has been a long road to this day. As great as these things are, they pale in comparison to the little boy in her belly that should be coming out any day now. God has truly blessed us beyond anything we could ever deserve. I pray that we will learn to use all His gifts in His service.

Thanksgiving

I have finally transferred the Thanksgiving pictures to my desktop so I can now do a Thanksgiving blog. I haven't felt too much pressure because both of my siblings have already covered the event quite well in their blogs. I can only add that we have been so blessed by such a wonderful family and that it is always a treat to spend time with them and with their food.

Baby Shower

Sunday night we were blessed with a wonderful baby shower on behalf of our son. I was really moved by all the many people who showed us how much they cared for us.

Christmas

This Christmas we took a Tour de Tejas with Sarah's family. We started in Gilmer (East Texas) with Sarah's Uncle Clint and Aunt Star with some great home cookin' and fun stories. Then we took the trek out to Junction where Sarah's parents and Granny and Pappa live. We stayed there a few days then went to see her Grandmother and Granddaddy out in the Trans-Pecos region. There was a crowd everywhere we went, but with Sarah being pregnant, we always got our own room with a bed. We're going to have to do this more often. It was great to see so much family and so much of Texas.
