Graduation!!!

It's official! My dad and I are the only ones in my immediate family with only one degree. Sarah graduated with honors on Saturday December 16th with her BSN. Now all that's left is her boards and she will be an RN. Mom drove all through the night on Friday night and arrived just in time for the ceremony. She is crazy, but in a wonderful way. Some of our close friends at church drove to the graduation as well. Sarah doesn't know what she is going to do with herself, but she only has about two months to worry about until our life gets busy again, and we forget what a good night's sleep feels like. Thursday we will hit the road again as we set off toward's West Texas to be with Sarah's family for Christmas.

Gettin' Rafiki wit it

This weekend was Sarah's graduation celebration (two weeks early). I had known for quite some time that she has wanted to see the Broadway production of The Lion King so I ordered tickets for Friday's showing in Nashville. I highly recommend this event to anyone. It is such a stirring blend of visual and audio sensations that I became watery eyed at several points during the performance. Everything was so vibrant and alive from the costumes to the vocals and orchestration. The actress who played Rafiki had an incredible voice. There were several great voices but hers topped them all. The hotel we stayed in was also a great treat. Overall, I think Sarah was very pleased with her graduation gift.
